Re-Mineralizing Toothpaste

I am pretty passionate about oral care.  I would spend a lot of money on products that I thought were better for me than the cheap brand toothpaste.  It was getting pretty pricey so I found this recipe and I love it!

3/4 Cup Distilled Water, boiling
1/2 tsp. Stevia
1/4 tsp. Celtic Sea Salt
1 TBSP. Coconut Oil
6 TBSPS. Bentonite Clay
2 Drops Thyme Essential Oil
2 Drops Oregano Essential Oil
2 Drops Lemon Essential Oil
2 Drops Cinnamon Essential Oil
2 Drops Clove Essential Oil
15 Drops Peppermint Essential Oil

Combine the water with the coconut oil.  Blend in the Stevia and Celtic Sea Salt.  When dissolved, stir in the Bentonite Clay (Do not use a metal spoon.)  Add more water, if desired, for a smoother paste.  Blend in essential oils.  Put mixture into a small mason jar.  You will have to dip your toothbrush in to get the paste onto your toothbrush.

The Stevia adds a nice sweet taste to the mixture.  The Celtic Sea Salt adds just a little bit of scrubbing.  Coconut Oil is known for whitening teeth and freshening breath.  Bentonite clay protects your mouth from bacteria, fungi, and viruses.  Thyme essential oil also contains antimicrobial properties that can help defend against tooth decay, oral infections and gingivitis.  Oregano oil helps fight the bacteria in the mouth.  Lemon oil removes bacteria from the oral cavity and prevents teeth and gum diseases.   Cinnamon oil is effective as a broad-spectrum antibiotic against 10 different species of bacteria that cause dental cavities. The anti-inflammatory and anti-bacteria properties of clove oil will help kill germs and infections in the mouth.  Peppermint essential oil has powerful antibacterial properties that can kill oral bacteria and prevent tooth decay. It is also effective against other oral conditions like gingivitis. When using essential oil based mouth rinses, take care not to swallow any of your rinses.
