This is How to Spa it Up!

Taking Care of your face is such a great way to boost your confidence and calm

This is the routine that really makes the end of my weekend feel like I am truly refreshed and ready for the coming work week.


I make all of these products in my own home and with natural ingredients I find at various websites.

#1 First You Must Cleanse


Cleasing removes dirt and impurities from the surface of the skin. This is especially inportant because of all of the environmental pollutants. I tend to wash my face only once a day because I have sensitive skin. Here is an Anti-aging Wash that I use almost daily.


#2 Time For A Steam


Facial steaming once a week deep cleanses pores, moisturizes your skin and improves circulation in your face.


To steam, add 1 to 3 drops of a blend of essential oils appropriate for you skin type (I have a blend here) in a quart of steaming water and drape a towel over you head. Hold there for 5 to 10 minutes.

#3 Follow It With A Mask


Once a week, apply a mask for your skin type and relax until it is dry. Both the mask and relaxation will improve the condition of your skin. This mask I use has only 2 ingredients.


#4 Tone It Up


Toner removes any residue left over from your face wash, mask or tap water. It helps with absorption of a facial serum and moisturizer. All you do is moisten a cotton ball and glide it over your face and neck until there are no traces of dirt. You won't believe how easy it is to make toner. Use the recipe on this page.


#5 It's All About The Serum


This adds an extra layer of moisture to your skin and helps even more with wrinkles and protects your skin from environmental pollutants. I use avocado oil as the base for my serum because it is so hydrating. Place a small amount of anti-aging face serum in the palm of your hand and massage it into the face. Focus on trouble areas, but be sure not to get too close to the eyes. Face serums should be applied to the skin after you use your face cleansers and toner. If you prefer to use a separate face moisturizer you can apply that over the facial serum. I use this recipe every day in the morning and night.


#6 Don't Forget To Seal It all In with Moisture


Moisturizer is a protective barrier between your skin and the atmosphere, bacteria, makeup and outdoor pollutants. Every skin, even oily skin, needs a moisturizer to protect it. Select one formulated for your skin. I love the smell of rose so I included my favorite on my Spa page.


Long Spa Day Short


Taking care of your skin is simple when you know what to do and when you establish a regular routine. Even if you have neglected your skin or have damage from sun, smoking, drinking alcohol or just not hydrating enough - it's not too late to start. You can prevent further damage and slow down the aging if you start now.
