The Marriage Saver

Today I am going to give you some great household cleaning recipes that will save you money and make your home a little bit healthier.

Keep reading to find out what I consider the Marriage Saver.

The Simplest All Over Household Cleaner

This is going to be a short paragraph. No more buying different cleaners for your kitchen, bathroom and windows. Only 2 ingredients will save you time and it will be nice to your bank account.

Water and white vinegar. Fill a large spray bottle 1/4 of the way with white vinegar and fill the rest of the bottle with water. Use it on counters, stove top, shower, windows and anything else that isn't porous. I don't recommend using it on electronics.

Don't worry, it will only smell like vinegar for a very short time. If you have been using the blue stuff on your windows or mirrors, you will notice some streaks until you use the water & vinegar for little while to get that chemical residue to go away, be patient. It will go away.

Expensive Laundry Detergent? Not Anymore!

You can get these ingredients at any hardware store. My powder laundry detergent is so great on my wallet.

1 Cup of Washing Soda and 1 Cup of Borax. I put in about 10 - 15 drops of my favorite essentials oils and shake it all together. I use eucalyptus or a mix of lavender & cedarwood essential oils. Use 1-2 Tablespoons in an HE Washer or 3 Tablespoons for an older washer.

Freshen Up Your House!

Super easy recipe for Homemade Febreze is on my recipes page at www.jessicadol.com.

You only use Baking Soda, Water and essential oils to create the smell you are looking for to freshen up your bed, couches, rugs, etc. Check out the recipe here.

Time for the Marriage Saver

We only have one bathroom in our house. The fake smelling aerosol sprays were making everything worse. It didn't cover up the smells - it just added a different, chemical smell. It was starting to make me sick.

You have seen the Poo-Potpourri in stores that you spray onto the toilet water before you go to the bathroom. It works, but it is expensive and has unhealthy ingredients. I have a recipe for Toilet Spray that is magical!

Super easy homemade toilet spray that really works

This recipe all goes into a 4 oz. pump spray bottle - I found these bottles and they work pretty well.

1 TBSP. Vegetable Glycerin

2 TBSP. Witch Hazel or Isopropyl Alcohol

1/4 Cup of water

15 Drops of Peppermint Essential Oil

10 Drops of Tea Tree Essential Oil

Use a small funnel to get everything in to the bottle and shake well.

Shake and use 6-8 pumps onto the toilet water before use.
