Laundry and Dishes

I have four ingredients that I always have on hand to make two detergent recipes most used in my home.
Dishwasher detergent and laundry soap.
The four ingredients are:
Washing Soda
Borax
Citric Acid
Kosher Salt
You can grab any of these ingredients at your local Hardware store or Online.
It's a frugal and healthy move for you to use these two recipes.
I make dishwasher tablets and store them in tupprware underneath to the sink for an easy grab.
DISHWASHER DETERGENT TABLETS
1 Cup Washing Soda
1 Cup Borax
1 Cup Citric Acid
1/2 Cup Kosher Salt
Add essential oils if you like. I add 10 drops Grapefruit and 10 drops of lemon.
Mix all ingredients into a bowl together. Lightly spritz mixture with water, but not too quickly as it may start to fizz.
When it clumps up in your hands, press into silicone milds or 1 TBSP tabs and let dry for 24 hours. Place in airtight container.

Powder Laundry Detergent
1 Cup Washing Soda
1 Cup Borax
Any essential oils you would like to add - I add 15 drops of lavender and 15 drops of Cedarwood. But, somtimes, for energy I throw in some eucalyptus.
1 - 2 TBSP for HE Washers
3 TBSP for Regular Washers
I also like to use wool dryer balls. I add Lavender and Cedarwood essential oil for bed linens. It's such a great smell.
If you don't feel safe using Borax you can just cut it out of the recipes. I use it because it helps with stubborn stains. If I run out of Borax - I just use Washing Soda with essential oils for both recipes.
Happy Cleaning and 'Til next time.
