Easy Christmas Gift #2

Making your own spice blends guarantees that you know the ingredients.

My Husband and I like to try and give one another unique gifts that really come from the heart. Every year I try to come up with something new that I make from scratch.

Last year I created spice blends that go into recipes, dips or dry rub for meats.

Put the spice blends in mason jars with a label and it is a really cute addition to your kitchen shelves. If you have left over spice mix you can freeze it and refresh your mason jars as you use the spices.

Let's get started with a few recipes below.

Ranch Dressing, Jamaican Jerk, Taco Seasoning, Rajin' Cajun and Chili Seasoning are the favorites in our household.

Chili Seasoning Jamaican Jerk

1/2 Cup Chili Powder 1/4 Cup Onion Powder

1/4 Cup Garlic Powder 2 TBSP Salt

1/4 Cup Cumin 2 TBSP Thyme

3 TBSP Onion Powder 2 tsp Allspice

2 TBSP Oregano 1 TBSP Cinnamon

2 TBSP Paprika 1 tsp Cayenne

1 TBSP Thyme (This is really good if you mix it with honey and

(1/4 Cup = 1 Store Bought Packet) brush it on meat.)

1 tsp Paprika 1 TBSP Cayenne

1 tsp Black Pepper 2 TBSP Oregano
