Don't Be Afraid to Rebuild

Starting over can be scary and hard to justify.

We are all under construction at some point in our lives.

In 2017 I decided to rebuild my career. I have, truly, been under construction since then. I have been through 4 job changes and starting a brand new one this Monday. It has been difficult to find a place I fit in, but I think I got it this time around. It's a work/life balance. I know I have to work to survive, but I also need my personal time in order to function as a good wife, friend and human being.

I guess what I am trying to say is, don't be afraid to rebuild as often as you need. There is not a magic number, but there is a thing that I believe in.

Listen to Your Gut

I have been in so many situations where I just didn't feel right. I felt uncomfortable, but powered through it because that is just "what you do." I wish I would have listened to my gut all along. So many long, drawn out experiences could have been avoided.

Not to say that I won't have gut feelings that I ignore. Right now my gut is telling me that I am doing the right thing.

Yes, it's hard to start another new job. Yes, it's hard to start a new blog, podcast and website. BUT, this is the most confident I have felt in years.

My gut is patting me on the back for the first time in a long time.

Rebuilding Health

On Tuesday I started my 21-Day Yoga Bootcamp on 6 days down! Every time I do this program I wonder why I haven't stuck with it in the past. My body feels great it and that attitude follows me through the rest of the day. Again, I am the type of person that needs to be held accountable so this blog really helps because I want you to feel motivated to get moving every day too.

Rebuilding Good Habits

How much water is a person supposed to drink each day? Here is a secret to to help you drink more water. Every half hour take 5 sips of water from your water bottle. It isn't as daunting as trying to gulp down a half or whole bottle. I manage to keep this up much more easily.

Cucumbers! They are magical. There are so many people that grow cucumbers and I have access to them all summer long. Slice up a cucumber and put it in a pitcher of water. The taste is amazing. If you are inundated with them you can slice and freeze them in individual packages. Put that into a pitcher of water so you have cucumber water all winter!

Rebuilding Your Home Products

Don't read the ingredients in Bug Spray! It is terrifying.

I am very susceptible to bug bites, especially those No-See-Ums and Pirate Bugs. I have been using my homemade bug spray for over a year and I love it!

My family and I hike a lot on my parent's property in Northeast Missouri. There was a time I would come away from a hike with over 30 No-See-Um bites all around my ankles. It was torturous!

This last trip - not one bite after spraying my shoes and socks with this amazing recipe! Check it out!

Rebuilding Your Recipes

This time of year my husband and I go through our freezers and try to use up ingredients in recipes any way we can. We're preparing for Crockpot and Soup Season! I love Fall so much!

I came across this amazing recipe, Moroccan Ramen, if you love Pho or spicy foods this is it! If spice can be to hard on you, cut the 1/2 tsp. of cayenne to 1/4 tsp.

My husband and I challenge ourselves to make new, interesting and healthy recipes as much as possible! We also use Misfit Market to get some ingredients you might not normally be able to get in a regular grocery store.

Let me know what you thought of this recipe!

Helping Others rebuild

As I rebuild - I am sharing it with you. My goal is to give ideas to motivate you to try something new. Something interesting. Something Healthy. Never stop learning.

'Til next week.
